Emmy Awards 2013: Where to watch the show, the pre-shows, the fashion

Written By Unknown on Minggu, 22 September 2013 | 13.40

Emmy weekend has arrived — here’s where to watch, even if your favorite part is watching celebs making awkward small talk with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet.

The actual broadcast: The 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on CBS.

And if you’re worried about the NFL afternoon game running late and messing up the prime-time line-up like it does every other Sunday in the fall, don’t worry — CBS has already scrapped “60 Minutes” to make sure everything starts on time.

Pre-shows: Since CBS has football, the network’s pre-show coverage is relegated to the Internet. That includes “ET Live on CBS.com” at 6:30 p.m., hosted by “Entertainment Tonight” correspondents Brooke Anderson and Rocsi Diaz, who interview the stars as they arrive. Plus, “Criminal Minds” star Shemar Moore is on the hook as the night’s social media reporter, posting everything on CBS.com or his Twitter feed.

Red carpet coverage: The best place to get the best views of the evening’s fashion is E!’s “Live From the Red Carpet,” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Also available for livestreaming on eonline.com)

Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic interview all the big-name celebs, and don’t worry — the infamous manicam will be back and better than ever. As always, E! tries to top itself during award season with new, weird technology by introducing the “GlamaZoom.” The contraption is described as “a high-definition camera that will get fabulous up-close shots of celebrities accessories from shoes to hairpins.” Who wouldn’t want a close-up of hairpins?!

BONUS — Watch a winner thank even more people: The TV Academy will be streaming online show “Backstage Live!” during the telecast, available on CBS.com, Yahoo.com and Emmys.com. There, viewers can see everything from the “Thank You Camera,” where winners will be whisked off stage and given the chance to continue their acceptance speech, to the Press Room Camera, as viewers can see winners being interviewed by reporters.
